 UMW April 24th, 7:30 p.m. Meeting Minutes....

Just to touch lightly on some highlights of our meeting.....

Sandy Timko, President opened the meeting.

Final details were discussed for the upcoming mission tea.  Courtney Gracie and Sandy Timko would be in the kitchen preparing for the meal.  John Whitman helped with setting up the tables on Wednesday.  Women could come in as early as Wednesday afternoon through Friday to set up/decorate their table.

We donated the Easter eggs for the "hunt on the green'" this year and a thank you card was sent from the H.T.P Commission.

*MISSION TEA, Friday, April 27th @ 6:00 p.m.....Kate Blaney "spear headed" another successfull Mission Tea!  She organized and found 14 of our Women of the Church to create and decorate a "themed" table.  Themes for the tables were up to the discretion of the Hostess!  All the tables were fabulous!  Each woman was asked to either bring 4 dozen cookies or "finger" sandwiches....we had plenty of both and they were delicious!  If you missed this years tea, please make an effort to come next year.  As always we ask for donations to support our select Missions and the women gave generously, exceeding $1,800.00!  Thank you, thank you to all who donated and to the wonderful efforts of our Ladies who hosted a table. But that's not all......  Our talent for the evening was Jonathan White.  He has entertained us for the last three years and the ladies absolutely enjoyed his humor and astounding singing voice.  We are very grateful and thankful for everyone's participation and look forward to next years tea!

*RADU KNIFE COMPANY....Kate Blaney has received information on the knives.  We will be seeing more on this fund raiser at the end of the summer. Some of us already have some of the knives and have used them for many years.  We see this as being very successful.  Look for continuing follow-up in upcoming newsletters and this website.

 UMW  Church Cookbook

We are currently working on a Methodist Church Cookbook!

Deb Filipovich went over the basics of publishing our very own cookbook from the ladies and gentlemen from our church.  We had contacted and received the information from Morris Press Cookbooks in the form of a "kit."  There is a display of current and "aged" cooking implements, along with a display board with information about structuring a cookbook in the church's back hallway.   We did decide on the soft cover with  a "spiral" binding.   On Tuesday, April 24th, the ladies received folders with all the information about gathering recipes and marketing...(ads included).  We voted on a final decision on page structure, font, history of church, etc.  Price for the Cookbook will be announced shortly.

The deadline for entries is August 31st.  We hope to have the cookbook ready to distribute by mid to late October, just in time for Holiday gift giving.  Let's all get involved and help make this a successful endeavor.

Please feel free to call Deb at the church on Wednesdays and Fridays, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on any inquiries.  Or email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
